The incumbent in this job is expected to assist the newly formed Line of Business (LoB) of Educational Managed Services (EMS) in achieving its vision and mission of delivering student success and all round development through Academic innovation and Excellence. A commitment to excellence, service, and a willingness to assist as needed is expected from the employee.


  • To setup, enable and drive the Academic Excellence (AE) department in the EMS LoB
  • Heads the AE department and ensures that continuous innovation in the space of academic excellence is the mantra of the team and focus
  • Responsible for keeping oneself abreast with the latest in Education Delivery; attends seminars, conferences etc which are meaningful in achieving this goal
  • Collaborates and builds relations with leaders and pioneers in the space of Educational Excellence, Delivery (inc. technology enabled models) and research
  • Shortlists innovative approaches and presents them to the leadership team with the intentions of converting them into executable educational programs
  • Transforms Innovative Educational approaches into executable programs and projects
  • Documents and presents white papers on academic innovation and industry's leading thought process to the leadership team and for the purpose of larger audience/ customers
  • Leads the instructional design processes and evaluates technology-rich teaching and learning approaches through collaborative curricular innovation, including new course development, course revision etc
  • Designs faculty training/ support programs and delivery of such programs

  • Provides leadership and innovation for enhancing teaching and learning through the identification, evaluation, adoption, and integration of effective educational innovations into the curriculum
  • Provides leadership in the development of strategic approaches for the integration of technology into the educational environments of EMS
  • Works collaboratively and effectively with other team members throughout the EMS LoB to provide pedagogical and technical consulting to design, develop, and implement instructional content, courses and projects that enrich teaching and learning (and where possible through the use of technology) of hybrid and traditional courses, including the integration of student learning outcomes
  • Formulates and provides a professional development program designed to support faculty in the design, development and delivery of curriculum and instruction using computer mediated communications, cognitive and interactive media tools, and sound research based course design for both local and distance learning opportunities
  • Develops and maintains an online repository of resources to provide information on current best practices, innovations, and emerging trends for team and faculty (e.g. tutorials, interactive programs, websites, research papers, white papers, journals etc) to promote sharing of resources
  • Engages the academic community in the exploration, discussion, and assessment of educational methodology/ technology and works collaboratively across the EMS to leverage and expand existing efforts into an intentional program of faculty support
  • Maintains awareness of best practices, emerging technologies and new potentials in educational methodology/ technology that may be adopted as new and emerging instructional media, technologies, pedagogies and practices
  • Establishes baseline data; tracks/ records progress made by faculty/ students; analyzes outcomes based on training, support and assessment provided to faculty/ students; and monitors progress to achieve goals
  • Maintains appropriate records and data to produce monthly performance reports, annual performance reports, and external reports
  • Coordinates with the EMS IT team to ensure adequate technology infrastructure to meet goals of technology-enhanced curricula
  • Participates in relevant EMS policy and planning committees and meetings
  • Reviews, maintains and evaluates the functional area budget
  • Assists with the development, implementation and monitoring of related policies and procedures in collaboration with the Head of Operations for EMS
  • Assists with the process for systematic review and evaluation of the educational methodology/ technology and curricular innovation functional area per the model adopted by the EMS LoB, including the development and monitoring of outcomes and plans of action for improvement based on the assessment of those outcomes and plans
  • Attends the workplace regularly and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the workplace
  • Completes duties and responsibilities in compliance with the EMS LoB standards, policies and guidelines
  • Uses interpersonal skills and makes sound judgments to decide how duties and responsibilities are completed between coworkers, the supervisory chain, faculty, staff, students, and customers
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored by the EMS LoB
  • Supports the values and institutional goals as defined in the EMS LoB Strategic Plan
  • Working hours may include evenings, holidays or weekends depending on deadline requirements and special events
  • Performs other duties as assigned
